Innovative Training Grounds in Capitol Hill
When a successful Seattle barber sought to expand his vision into education, PDK Corporation was chosen to bring the 028 Barber School to life. We transformed a former yoga studio into a high-capacity training facility that balances modern aesthetics with the heavy utility demands of a premier academy.
The transformation required a sophisticated overhaul of the building’s core systems. To support multiple barber stations, PDK Corporation executed Strategic Infrastructure Upgrades, including high-density plumbing for wash stations and precision electrical distribution for professional grooming tools. A primary focal point of the project was the preservation and integration of a unique floor design. Because the floor’s specific dimensions and material composition precluded the use of heavy machinery, our team utilized specialized manual installation techniques to ensure a flawless finish without compromising the structural integrity of the design.
Key Solutions & Impact
Precision MEP Infrastructure
Our team completely overhauled the plumbing and electrical systems to support over 20 barbering stations. This involved specialized drainage solutions and dedicated high-voltage circuits to ensure seamless operation for simultaneous student use.
Adaptive Structural Care
Due to the unique dimensions and sensitive existing flooring, the use of heavy machinery was prohibited. We utilized manual precision engineering and specialized transport methods to protect the architectural integrity of the space while completing heavy framing and drywall phases.
Modern Community Hub
By preserving unique design elements of the original space and integrating industrial lighting and finishes, we created a professional environment that has become a vital community hub for aspiring barbers in the Pacific Northwest.
